About Me

Hello, and welcome to my blog. This blog will mainly be me posting pictures of my style, but will also include some written post. I love to write and I feel this space can be more than just a fashion blog so will integrate some commentary posts along the way.

I started this blog because I felt it was time I was a little braver in expressing myself in the public domain. I absolutely love clothes, but I have been dubious about posting pictures of myself and the clothes I wear, mainly down to being a scardy cat. Another main reason is although there are many blogs of this nature, I have struggled to find many who cater to UK-based women of colour. I think it's really important people of colour have a presence in the blogging world; we all need to relate and feel inspired by all walks of life.

Now, my style has changed over recent years, and instead of wearing clothes to cover anything and everything, I've become more confident and therefore a lot more girly. I was a total tomboy when I was growing up, because I didn't look like the girls around me - they were small and delicate, and I....well, I just wasn't. I'm still not, but I've learnt along the way, getting older, that it's ok not to look a certain way and that it was/is ok to wear whatever I like! I'm never going to be mistaken for a model, but I like the way I look and I love the way I dress too, now. I used to worry about what other people thought of me and what they would think if I wore the clothes I wanted to wear, due to the fear of being judged. There is so much damaging coverage from all parts of the media that show what women "should" look like. Growing up, and even now, there was no-one around that looked like me, but it was through finding and reading blogs where I discovered that there was an alternative.

It took a long time and a lot of frustration to finally get to this place, a place of self acceptance. Feeling confident in ones own skin is the most appealing thing anyone can ever have and blogging has really helped me to believe that message.

I mainly shop at vintage inspired places and will always list where I have bought something in my posts. I really hope you enjoy reading my blog, and feel free to contact me via my contact page.

Love and hugs,
Isha xxx
